* I also wanted to add that bug zappers do NOT work for mosquitoes.  Mosquitoes are not attracted to light and zappers just kill other beneficial insects that birds use for food.

If your child always gets very severe reactions to mosquitoes, you can give Allegra (fexofenadine) or Zyrtec (cetirizine) every day they are likely to be exposed in order to keep them from reacting strongly in the first place. 

 

The dose of Children's Allegra and Zyrtec for kids 6 months to 2 years old is 2.5ml (Allegra every 12h and Zyrtec every 24h)
